On November 14, we welcomed 16 young and curious schoolchildren to METAS on the occasion of National Future Day.
After a general introduction to the Federal Institute of Metrology METAS, the children were then able to actively and practically explore the world of metrology: In three entertaining workshops, our young guests carried out exciting experiments in physics, chemistry and technology themselves.
They learned how precise measurements influence our everyday lives and gained an insight into the work of Switzerland's national metrology institute through their experiments.
The children's enthusiasm and curiosity showed us once again how important it is to get the next generation interested in science and technology!
Who knows which of these young people might one day make an important contribution to the science of measurement at METAS?
