The Dublin Joint Committee

Under the Dublin Association Agreement, Switzerland is consulted and invited to make a statement on the drafting of new legal provisions. This happens within the framework of the Dublin/Eurodac Joint Committee. The Joint Committee serves as a body for general exchange on political issues in association with the Dublin and Eurodac Regulations. Switzerland can make concrete proposals within this committee. Participants in the meetings of the Joint Committee are the European Commission as well as representatives of the associated States (Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein) and the EU States.

The SEM heads the Swiss delegation in the Joint Committee. In this capacity, it draws up Switzerland's position and presents this for consultation to the participating offices.
